chezskit

As I had a friend round last night, this is As Tidy As It Gets. Though the debris of our alcohol- and chocohol-ism is littering the coffee table. But anyway I though I’d make the most of it and take a few pictures for the curious minds out there.

Unfortunately it isn’t really possible to get far enough away from any wall to take good pictures, so they’re not great and there are a few more than you really need.

Three Hobblings may be able to spot letters/things they have sent me…although in some cases they will need to be spectacularly sharp-eyed (and possibly I would need to have put my camera on a better resolution). But I count 5 things from one person (oh guess who) and 2 from each of 2 others. Oh and biped can of course spot her cunningly-disguised Farscape.

Okay so:

Lounge/kitchen

From entry door:

From window corner:

From kitchen corner:

From bedroom door:

Bedroom

From door to lounge:

From bed:

Bathroom, from bedroom (too small to take a photo from within):

View through flat from bathroom door (door on right is Ye Cupboard Full Of Junk, a tradition in my family):

And lastly my dining table because it made a nice (if messy) arrangement and you can’t really see it properly in any of the others:

…so there you go. Suggestions? Improvements? Awe at my fantastic interior decoration of cream on beige on beech? (I need a few more big pictures or posters.) Envy? Terror? Smugness at having a card/letter in clear view?

Wow. That is a vast improvement in tidiness!

What have I given you apart from a card?

I like all the wood. And I like the rubber ducky shower curtain.

Ooh, nice place. Is there anything from me in there? *peers*

You need fairy lights around the brick chimney thing I think.

I really did see you staying somewhere more dilapidated.

I'm sure it will dilapidate fast now I'm living there...

Kepp...I counted 5 things yesterday but can only think of 4 today. Oops. Anyway...you can claim the card on the freezer, the top right letter on the memo board, a book on the big bookcase (which really isn't visible at all) and a postcard mostly hiding in the letter rack.

Em can claim the other (green) letter on the memo board and a bookmark mostly hidden in the letter rack.

Jes can claim the mouse mat and the bookmark that is hiding Em's bookmark in the letter rack.

Oh, coolness. I have 'things' in your apartment. Mwah.

It is pretty nice actually, congrats on finding such a good place.

Btw, that poster on the back of the fridge looks suspiciously like one I used to have. *peers at photo* It's not Chinese lettering by any chance?

Nope it's not - it's a normal english list of christmassy things. I just needed something to cover up the cooling mesh with...I plan to get a proper poster on a board sometime to cover it.

What do you mean 'pretty nice actually?' Did you expect mouldy grout like Kepp did?

Rian is glotzing the poinsettia. How lovely.

And Rian recommends more cushions. Everywhere. Even in the loo.

I just keep forgetting you're not a student anymore and can actually afford to live somewhere decent. ;) I may have expected lino.

Heehee, okay. I'm not positive I can afford it yet, but let's see...

Cushions in the loo? Surely wouldn't work. Blockages.

Oh and it turned out I didn't miscount, I was merely being prescient. 5 it is. *grins*

I think the wall really need some colour. Russian Red is nice. I also used to have a special blue a while ago. Name starts with p. It has green undertones. Makes an oddly cosy room. Anything but beige, really. Stay away from sunshine yellow though. There can be too much of a good thing.

And since when can non-student afford to live somewhere 'decent'? Or am I the usual exception? I have all the mould you guys were after...

ah, chezskits reminds me of my orders to supply more farscape. Whereto shall crichton go? And did Lenin ever make it home?

Don't think my landlord will let me paint walls. Posters/fabric hangings are the way forward. Oh and my rent in London wouldn't get you a cardboard box...

Yes Lenin did get back - sorry (I have my own black holes of communication). Rewatched him straight away. Love that film.

And as for Crichton...he may go wherever he chooses. Aren't I magnanimous? I think you were on the email with my new address...I will be hereish until the 21st and then in Scotland until the 2nd...and you have both addresses. So you choose. Thank you! Crichton number 3 will make his way back to you shortly.

Where would I be without dvd-lending friends?

It's all so incredibly neat.

Even Ye Cupboard Full Of Junk is neat.

Amazing.

Trust me, it's not any more. The last hour has been spent clearing the detritus of a week's cooking from the kitchen worktops...

But being tidy is Unnatural, no?

Gah! Just send skit Farscape fast! I can't stand the tension... I can't really shout FARSCAPE in every email if she doesn't have any to watch...

But she could rewatch...

REWATCH FARSCAPE, skit.

Incidentally, congrats on having a phone line.

At 2:58 pm, Blogger skittledog said...

But she can't rewatch too much...she has to return it sooner or later.

Plus Firefly is clearly more deserving of rewatches.

*scoots*

Well, if you can't appreciate the beauty that is Crichton, the marvellousness that is D'Argo, the brilliance that is Aeryn Sun, the wonder that is Chiana, then rewatch Rygel and think of Wesley. And to think that I was busy repacking the Farscape DVDs into something more postal-suited when you were casting slurs on this most ingenious series. You can run, but you can't hide.

Oops Keppet-baiting has unintended consequences...

"rewatch Rygel and think of Wesley"

Yes, that connection has been made many times already...heh. Shurrup the lot of you.

At 11:31 pm, Blogger biped said...

Well, if I were honest I'd have to admit that I would have never made the Rygel/Wesley connection by myself. But then I'm as honest as a drunken hynerian.

Who else has made the Rygel/Wesley connection?
